// Scenario 10
Ready for Europe’s new rules
If you sell online to people in the EU, two sets of rules now reach your website: accessibility and AI transparency. This scenario gets your site and your AI features ready for both, and keeps them that way.

- This is a scenario we deliver, not a past client result.
Why it matters in 2026
The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025. Online shops, booking sites, banking and many other consumer services sold in the EU must now be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader and enough contrast, whether the company is based in the EU or not; only the smallest service providers are exempt. The EU AI Act adds transparency duties from August 2026, with some parts phasing in through 2027: people must be told when they are talking to an AI, and AI-generated content must be recognisable. Both are also simply good business: accessible sites convert better, and clear AI labels build trust.
You need this if
- You sell products or services online to customers in the EU.
- Your site has never been tested with a keyboard only or a screen reader.
- You use a chatbot, AI-written product texts or AI images, with no label.
- A large client or marketplace has asked about your accessibility or AI policy.
How we deliver it
1 Audit
We test your key pages and journeys (home, product, cart, checkout, forms, account) with automated tools and by hand: keyboard only, screen reader, zoom, contrast, labels and error messages.
2 Fix
We fix what we find in your theme and content: headings, labels, focus states, colour contrast, alternative text, form errors and anything that traps a keyboard user.
3 Label AI clearly
Wherever AI answers or writes, visitors are told so in plain words: chat assistants introduce themselves, AI-made images and texts are marked where required, and a short page explains how you use AI.
4 Keep it compliant
An accessibility statement is published, and a watchdog re-checks key pages after every update, so a new plugin or page does not quietly undo the work.
What you get
- An accessibility audit of your key pages and journeys
- The fixes, applied to your live site
- An accessibility statement ready to publish
- Clear AI labels and a page explaining how you use AI
- Automatic re-checks after every update
What we will not promise
We are not lawyers, and this is not legal advice. We make your site and AI features meet the technical requirements and document what was done; for questions about your legal obligations, we work alongside your counsel.
Questions
We are not based in the EU. Does this apply to us?
If you sell to consumers in the EU, the accessibility rules can apply to the products and services you offer there. The smallest service businesses are exempt; your counsel can confirm your case.
Is an accessibility plugin enough?
No. Overlay plugins do not fix the underlying code and can make things worse for screen-reader users. Real fixes are made in the theme and the content.
Do we have to label every AI-assisted text?
The duties focus on telling people when they interact with AI and on recognisable AI-generated or manipulated content. We help you apply clear, proportionate labels without cluttering your site.
