An AI strategist turns a business goal into a clear, prioritised plan: what to do first, why, how to measure it and who does what. It gathers evidence and drafts options fast; a founder makes the decisions. At OWL & GOATS this specialist is ATHENA, and it coordinates the other specialists once the plan is approved.

What does an AI strategist do?

  • Clarifies the goal: turns "we want more clients" into a measurable target with a date.
  • Maps the situation: market, competitors, your offer, your channels and your constraints, from research and your own data.
  • Drafts options: two or three realistic paths, each with what it costs, what it needs and what could go wrong.
  • Prioritises: orders the work so the first steps bring evidence early and the expensive steps come later.
  • Coordinates: once a plan is approved, breaks it into tasks for the specialists who execute it, and tracks them.

Can AI really do strategy?

It can do a large part of the preparation, which is where most strategy time goes: reading, comparing, structuring and writing options down. It is fast at seeing patterns across many sources and at keeping a plan up to date as facts change.

What it cannot do is own the decision. Strategy means choosing what not to do, accepting risk and committing people and money. Those choices depend on values, relationships and appetite for risk that no model knows. That is why our rule is simple: the AI drafts and pressure-tests; a founder decides and is accountable.

Where it helps most

When a small team has more ideas than time. Founders often carry ten possible projects in their head: a new market, a new offer, a new site, an automation. An AI strategist writes them down, estimates the effort and the likely result of each, and helps choose the two that matter this quarter.

It also helps when a plan exists but drifts. Weekly, it compares what was planned with what actually happened, flags the gaps and proposes adjustments, so the plan stays a working tool instead of a document nobody opens.

For companies working across Morocco, Europe and the Gulf, the plan also has to respect each market: different buyers, different channels, different languages and sometimes different rules. Writing those differences down early avoids the common mistake of copying one market’s plan into another.

And it helps when decisions need to be explained. A plan written with its reasons is easier to share with partners, investors or a new team member than one that lives in a founder’s head.

What a plan looks like

Short and practical. One page with the goal, the measure and the date; the two or three priorities for the period with an owner each; the first steps for the coming weeks; the risks and what we will watch; and the decisions needed from you. Detail lives in linked documents for those who need it.

Every priority is tied to work that can start immediately. A strategy that cannot be turned into tasks this week is usually not finished.

The plan is also reviewed on a rhythm. Every week, a short check of progress against the plan; every month, a look at whether the priorities still make sense given what you learned. Changing course is normal; changing it without saying why is what confuses teams. Each change is written down with its reason and approved by a person.

Strategist, consultant, or both?

  • A strategy consultant for a major decision with high stakes, such as an acquisition, a new country or a restructuring, where senior human experience is the product.
  • An AI strategist with our team for the continuous work of turning goals into plans, keeping them current and connecting them to execution.
  • Both when a consultant sets the direction and you need a team to turn it into weekly work and keep it on track.

How OWL & GOATS does it

ATHENA plans our own work and coordinates our eleven other specialists; a founder approves every plan and every change to it. For clients, we start from one goal and produce a written plan with priorities and first steps, then, if you want, execute it in the same team: site, content, automation, campaigns.

A first project, such as a growth plan for one market with the first actions delivered, is a fixed price from $2,500 (12,900 MAD in Morocco), 2–3 weeks. Continued planning and execution run on monthly plans from $2,900 (14,900 MAD), month to month and pausable.

Why work with us

Most strategy fails between the plan and the work. Because our planning specialist hands tasks directly to the specialists who execute them, and a founder reviews both, the plan does not end as a slide deck. You see the plan, the work it produced and the results in one place.

We are also honest about trade-offs. A good plan says what you will not do this quarter, and why. We would rather help you do two things well than ten things badly.

And we bring the evidence. Each recommendation comes with what it is based on: research, your own numbers, what worked for similar businesses we built for, and what we do not know yet. When the evidence is thin, the plan says so and proposes the cheapest way to learn more before you commit a large budget.
