Web & mobile app development

A good app starts small: a prototype that proves the idea with real users, then the full app once the need is confirmed. With OWL & GOATS, the prototype is a fixed-price first project from $2,500 (12,900 MAD in Morocco), delivered in 2–3 weeks; the full app gets a firm quote.

What drives the cost of an app

  • Features

Every screen and action (book, pay, chat, track an order) adds design, development and testing. The biggest part of the budget.

  • Platforms

iPhone, Android, web, or all three. One cross-platform codebase often avoids building everything twice.

  • Accounts and payments

Sign-up, sign-in, subscriptions or online payment need serious security and testing.

  • The back office

The app is only the visible part: you also need a place to manage content, users and orders.

  • Integrations

Your CRM, WhatsApp, a payment provider, notifications: each connection adds set-up and testing.

  • After launch

Publishing on the App Store and Google Play, hosting, system updates, fixes and new versions. Plan for them from day one.

Three ways to build your app

  • A no-code tool or an AI builder

Fast and cheap to test a simple idea. You depend on the platform, and custom needs soon hit its limits.

  • A freelance developer

Flexible and often affordable. Design, development, back office and publishing rest on one person, and so does support.

  • An agency

Product, design, development, testing and publishing in one team, with a firm quote and code you own. Costs more than a freelancer at the start.

How we build your app

  1. 1 You describe your idea

In one sentence on our quote form or on WhatsApp: who it is for, and what it does.

  2. 2 A founder replies with a fixed quote

Within one business day, with the prototype scope written down.

  3. 3 Prototype in 2–3 weeks

Screens you can test and show to your first users, reviewed by a founder.

  4. 4 The full app

If the idea holds, a firm quote for the full version; the prototype is credited in full if you continue on a plan.

Check before you sign with an app company

  • Who owns the code, the Apple and Google accounts and the data
  • Is the back office included?
  • Who publishes the app and handles store reviews
  • iOS and Android updates after launch: included or billed?
  • Monthly hosting and third-party service costs

Questions

How much does it cost to build an app?

With OWL & GOATS, an app prototype is a fixed-price first project from $2,500 (12,900 MAD in Morocco). The full app gets a firm written quote after a short scoping call, because its features decide the work. Be wary of any price given without a written scope.

How long does it take to build an app?

A prototype is delivered in 2–3 weeks. The timeline of the full app depends on its features; it is written in the quote before we start.

Native, cross-platform or web app: which should I choose?

An installable web app is often enough to start and costs less. A store app becomes useful for notifications, the camera, offline use or visibility on the App Store and Google Play. We advise based on use, not on what costs the most.

Do you build both websites and apps?

Yes. Websites, web apps and mobile apps, from one team, in English, French and Arabic. For Sumo we built a web app with accounts and subscriptions, plus Telegram bots and the marketing site.

What does it cost to publish on the App Store and Google Play?

Apple and Google each charge for a developer account, in your name. Then come hosting and the services the app uses. We list them in the quote so there are no surprises.

Can I build an app with no-code or AI?

Yes, to test a simple idea. Once you need accounts, payments, a back office or integrations, custom development is more reliable. We use AI to move faster, and a founder reviews every delivery.

Will I own the code?

Yes. The code, the accounts and your data are yours.
